I’m Liz Schaffer, the founder and creative director of Lodestars Anthology, an independent magazine-meets-journal that, since 2014, has explored a single country every issue. So far, we’ve created magazines devoted to England, Scotland, Australia, Italy, Sweden, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, France, India, Portugal, Switzerland, Mexico, Wales, Greece, Spain and Ireland.
Australian raised and London based, I also work as a freelance writer, editor and photographer specialising in travel, food and the arts. I’ve contributed to magazines including Suitcase, Smith Journal, Australian Traveller and Harper's Bazaar, appear regularly on Monocle 24, and have produced custom publications for JNTO and Wondertrunk & Co (among others).
In 2017 I also created Pathways, a photo book, with New Heroes & Pioneers, in 2021 I edited The Unyoked Writer’s Anthology vol 1, and in 2024 I released Slow Travel Britain with Hoxton Mini Press.
